Avian Influenza
1. Germany reported 10 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On June 22, Germany reported 10 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Lower Saxony, resulting in 10 wild birds infected and died.
2. Netherlands reported 6 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On June 25, the Netherlands reported 6 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in North Holland Province and 4 other locations, resulting in 6 wild birds infected and died.
3. Denmark reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds
On June 26, Denmark reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.
4. Canada reported 1 H5 subtype HPAI outbreak in wild birds
On June 23, Canada reported 1 outbreak of H5 subtype HPAI in wild birds in Saskatchewan, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.
5. Honduras reported 2 H5 subtype HPAI outbreaks in wild birds and 1 in poultry
On June 22, Honduras reported 2 outbreaks in wild birds and 1 in poultry of H5 subtype HPAI in Comayagua Department and 2 other locations, resulting in 310 wild birds infected and died, and 2,800 commercial poultry infected and died, with 40,000 culled.
6. Peru reported 21 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On June 26, Peru reported 21 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Lambayeque Region and 3 other locations, resulting in 476 wild birds and backyard poultry infected and died, and 267 culled.
7. Costa Rica reported 1 H5 subtype HPAI outbreak in wild birds
On June 25, Costa Rica reported 1 outbreak of H5 subtype HPAI in wild birds in Puntarenas Province, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.
8. Australia reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds
On June 22, Australia reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Western Australia, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.
9. Nepal reported 15 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry
On June 25 and 26, Nepal reported 15 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Bagmati Province, resulting in 15,000 poultry infected and died, and 32,000 culled.
Other Animal Diseases
1. Spain reported 4 Newcastle disease outbreaks
On June 22, Spain reported 4 outbreaks of Newcastle disease in Castile and León, resulting in 3,640 poultry infected and died, and 84,000 culled.
2. Lesotho reported 1 Newcastle disease outbreak
On June 24, Lesotho reported 1 outbreak of Newcastle disease in Mafeteng District, resulting in 14 poultry infected and 7 deaths.
3. Moldova reported 1 rabies outbreak
On June 24, Moldova reported 1 outbreak of rabies in Edineț District, resulting in 1 domestic dog infected and died.
4. Turkey reported 8 rabies outbreaks
On June 26, Turkey reported 8 outbreaks of rabies in Van Province and 3 other locations, resulting in 4 cattle, 4 domestic dogs, 1 horse and 1 domestic cat infected and died.
5. Bulgaria reported 1 sheep pox outbreak
On June 22, Bulgaria reported 1 outbreak of sheep pox in Plovdiv Province, resulting in 1 sheep infected and died, and 48 culled.
6. Greece reported 3 serotype 8 bluetongue outbreaks
On June 23, Greece reported 3 outbreaks of serotype 8 bluetongue in Pieria Province and one other location, resulting in 42 sheep and goats infected and 15 deaths.
7. Lesotho reported 2 heartwater outbreaks
On June 24, Lesotho reported 2 outbreaks of heartwater in Thaba-Tseka District, resulting in 5 sheep infected and 2 deaths.
8. Ecuador reported 1 rabbit hemorrhagic disease outbreak
On June 22, Ecuador reported 1 outbreak of rabbit hemorrhagic disease in Pichincha Province, resulting in 7 domestic rabbits infected and died.
9. Croatia reported 3 peste des petits ruminants outbreaks
On June 26, Croatia reported 3 outbreaks of peste des petits ruminants in Bjelovar-Bilogora County, resulting in 8 sheep infected and 728 culled.
10. United States reported 4 New World screwworm outbreaks
On June 26, the United States reported 4 outbreaks of New World screwworm in Texas, resulting in 6 cattle and 2 sheep infected.
11. Mexico reported 7 New World screwworm outbreaks
On June 26, Mexico reported 7 outbreaks of New World screwworm in Durango State and one other location, resulting in 7 livestock including cattle and domestic dogs infected.
12. Lesotho reported 5 SAT1 FMD outbreaks
On June 22 and 26, Lesotho reported 5 outbreaks of SAT1 foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Qacha's Nek District and 3 other locations, resulting in 24 cattle and sheep infected.
13. Eswatini reported 3 SAT1 FMD outbreaks
On June 22, Eswatini reported 3 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in Hhohho Region, resulting in 76 cattle infected.
14. South Africa reported 40 SAT1 FMD outbreaks
On June 25, South Africa reported 40 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in North West Province and 4 other locations, resulting in 350 cattle infected.
15. Libya reported 2 FMD outbreaks
On June 22, Libya reported 2 outbreaks of untyped FMD in Tripoli, resulting in 20 cattle and 26 sheep infected, with 2 cattle and 4 sheep deaths.
16. Cyprus reported 1 SAT1 FMD outbreak
On June 23, Cyprus reported 1 outbreak of SAT1 FMD in Nicosia District, resulting in 43 sheep and goats infected and 177 culled.
17. Greece reported 5 SAT1 FMD outbreaks
On June 26, Greece reported 5 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD on the island of Lesbos, resulting in 363 sheep and goats infected.
African Swine Fever
1. Hungary reported 12 ASF outbreaks in wild boar
On June 22, Hungary reported 12 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Nógrád County and 2 other locations, resulting in 12 wild boar infected and died.
2. Estonia reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar
On June 22, Estonia reported 1 outbreak of ASF in wild boar in Rapla County, resulting in 1 wild boar infected and died.
3. Serbia reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar and 80 in domestic pigs
On June 23 and 25, Serbia reported 1 outbreak in wild boar and 80 in domestic pigs of ASF in Mačva District and 2 other locations, resulting in 1 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 132 infected, 89 deaths, and 1,342 culled.
4. Spain reported 2 ASF outbreaks in wild boar
On June 25, Spain reported 2 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Catalonia, resulting in 11 wild boar infected and died.
5. Croatia reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar and 2 in domestic pigs
On June 26, Croatia reported 1 outbreak in wild boar and 2 in domestic pigs of ASF in Osijek-Baranja County and one other location, resulting in 1 wild boar and 3 domestic pigs infected and died, and 296 domestic pigs culled.
6. Latvia reported 17 ASF outbreaks in wild boar
On June 26, Latvia reported 17 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Tukums Municipality and 4 other locations, resulting in 17 wild boar infected and died.
