Avian Influenza

 

 

1. Netherlands reported 7 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On July 20, the Netherlands reported 7 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Friesland Province and 3 other locations, resulting in 10 wild birds and backyard poultry infected, 6 deaths, and 172 culled.

 

2. Mexico reported 2 H7N3 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds and 2 in poultry

On July 24, Mexico reported 2 outbreaks in wild birds and 2 in poultry of H7N3 HPAI in Jalisco State and 2 other locations, resulting in 5 wild birds and backyard poultry infected, 1 death, 60 culled, and among poultry, 851 infected, 265 deaths, and 825 culled.

 

3. Honduras reported 1 H5 subtype HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On July 20, Honduras reported 1 outbreak of H5 subtype HPAI in wild birds in Copán Department, resulting in 197 wild birds infected and died.

 

4. Brazil reported 2 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On July 20, Brazil reported 2 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Mato Grosso State and one other location, resulting in 60 wild birds and backyard poultry infected, 23 deaths, and 1 culled.

 

5. Ecuador reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On July 24, Ecuador reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in the Exclusive Economic Zone, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

6. New Zealand reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On July 23, New Zealand reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Wellington, resulting in 1 wild bird infected.

 

7. Australia reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On July 24, Australia reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Western Australia, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

8. Togo reported 5 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry

On July 21, Togo reported 5 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in the Maritime Region, resulting in 15,000 poultry infected, 10,000 deaths, and 4,910 culled.

1. Spain reported 3 Newcastle disease outbreaks

On July 21 and 23, Spain reported 3 outbreaks of Newcastle disease in Castile and León, resulting in 4,100 poultry infected and died, and 121,000 culled.

On July 21, Nepal reported 1 outbreak of peste des petits ruminants in Karnali Province, resulting in 18 goats infected and 11 deaths.

 

5. United Kingdom reported 13 serotype 3 bluetongue outbreaks

On July 24, the United Kingdom reported 13 outbreaks of serotype 3 bluetongue in England, resulting in 32 cattle and sheep infected, and 1 sheep dead.

 

6. France reported 6 West Nile fever outbreaks

On July 24, France reported 6 outbreaks of West Nile fever in Bouches-du-Rhône and 4 other locations, resulting in 1 horse infected and 6 crows infected and died.

 

7. North Macedonia reported 3 sheep pox outbreaks

On July 20 and 23, Libya reported 11 outbreaks of serotype O foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Al Marqab Province and 23 other locations, resulting in 130 cattle infected and 21 deaths.

 

11. South Africa reported 49 SAT1 FMD outbreaks

On July 23, South Africa reported 49 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in North West Province and 4 other locations, resulting in 558 cattle infected and 2 deaths.

 

12. Greece reported 12 SAT1 FMD outbreaks

On July 24, Greece reported 12 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD on the island of Lesbos, resulting in 899 sheep infected.

 

 

African Swine Fever

 

 

1. Hungary reported 2 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On July 20, Hungary reported 2 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Baranya County, resulting in 2 wild boar infected and died.

 

2. Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 3 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs

On July 20, Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 3 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Republika Srpska, resulting in 4 domestic pigs infected, 1 death, and 36 culled.

 

3. Poland reported 38 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On July 20, Poland reported 38 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Pomeranian Voivodeship and 5 other locations, resulting in 47 wild boar infected and died.

 

4. Croatia reported 10 ASF outbreaks in wild boar and 44 in domestic pigs

On July 21 and 23, Croatia reported 10 outbreaks in wild boar and 44 in domestic pigs of ASF in Virovitica-Podravina County and one other location, resulting in 10 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 103 infected, 43 deaths, and 2,338 culled.

 

5. Estonia reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar

On July 22, Estonia reported 1 outbreak of ASF in wild boar in Lääne County, resulting in 1 wild boar infected and died.

 

6. Bulgaria reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar

9. Romania reported 3 ASF outbreaks in wild boar and 18 in domestic pigs

On July 24, Romania reported 3 outbreaks in wild boar and 18 in domestic pigs of ASF in Bacău County and 2 other locations, resulting in 4 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 123 infected, 25 deaths, and 98 culled.

 

10. Nepal reported 1 ASF outbreak in domestic pigs

On July 21, Nepal reported 1 outbreak of ASF in domestic pigs in Bagmati Province, resulting in 12 domestic pigs infected and 11 deaths.
