Avian Influenza

 

 

1. Norway reported 3 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On July 27, Norway reported 3 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Nordland County and one other location, resulting in 6 wild birds infected and died.

 

2. United Kingdom reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds

On July 27, the United Kingdom reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in England, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

3. Germany reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry

On July 29, Germany reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Lower Saxony, resulting in 15 poultry infected and 5 deaths.

 

4. United States reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry and 22 in dairy cattle

On July 27, the United States reported 1 outbreak in poultry and 22 in dairy cattle of H5N1 HPAI in Utah and one other location, resulting in an unspecified number of poultry infected and 1.49 million culled, and multiple dairy cattle infected.

 

5. Australia reported 8 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds

On July 31, Australia reported 8 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in South Australia and one other location, resulting in 11 wild birds infected and died.

 

6. India reported 6 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry

On July 30, India reported 6 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Andhra Pradesh and 2 other locations, resulting in 3,148 poultry infected and died, and 8,862 culled.

1. Spain reported 2 Newcastle disease outbreaks

On July 31, Spain reported 2 outbreaks of Newcastle disease in Castile and León, resulting in 1,765 poultry infected and died, and 63,000 culled.

 

2. Moldova reported 3 rabies outbreaks

On July 27 and 30, Moldova reported 3 outbreaks of rabies in Soroca District and 2 other locations, resulting in 1 cattle, 1 goat and 1 domestic dog infected and died.

 

3. Romania reported 2 rabies outbreaks

On July 31, Romania reported 2 outbreaks of rabies in Bacău County, resulting in 1 cattle and 1 domestic cat infected and died.

 

4. Greece reported 14 sheep pox outbreaks

On July 27, Greece reported 14 outbreaks of sheep pox in Elis Province and one other location, resulting in 184 sheep and goats infected, 43 deaths, and 1,066 culled.

 

5. Bulgaria reported 2 sheep pox outbreaks

On July 27 and 30, Bulgaria reported 2 outbreaks of sheep pox in Plovdiv Province and one other location, resulting in 51 sheep infected, 39 deaths, and 306 culled.

 

6. Serbia reported 1 sheep pox outbreak

On July 28, Serbia reported 1 outbreak of sheep pox in Raška District, resulting in 6 sheep infected and 132 culled.

 

7. North Macedonia reported 18 sheep pox outbreaks

On July 29 and 31, North Macedonia reported 18 outbreaks of sheep pox in Vinica Municipality and 2 other locations, resulting in 64 sheep infected, 28 deaths, and 1,295 culled.

 

8. Rwanda reported 5 Rift Valley fever outbreaks

On July 29, Rwanda reported 5 outbreaks of Rift Valley fever in the Eastern Province, resulting in 5 cattle infected.

 

9. Germany reported 1 equine infectious anemia outbreak

On July 31, Germany reported 1 outbreak of equine infectious anemia in Lower Saxony, resulting in 1 horse infected and culled.

 

10. Armenia reported 5 theileriosis outbreaks

On July 29 and 31, Armenia reported 5 outbreaks of theileriosis in Ararat Province and 2 other locations, resulting in 6 sheep infected and died.

 

11. United Kingdom reported 32 serotype 3 bluetongue outbreaks

On July 31, the United Kingdom reported 32 outbreaks of serotype 3 bluetongue in England, resulting in 49 cattle infected.

 

12. Austria reported 1 West Nile fever outbreak

On July 31, Austria reported 1 outbreak of West Nile fever in Lower Austria, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

 

13. Kenya reported 4 African horse sickness outbreaks

On July 31, Kenya reported 4 outbreaks of African horse sickness in Nairobi and one other location, resulting in 4 horses infected and died.

 

14. Armenia reported 1 Varroa infestation outbreak

On July 27, Armenia reported 1 outbreak of Varroa infestation in Gegharkunik Province, resulting in 2 hives destroyed.

 

15. Libya reported 20 serotype O FMD outbreaks

On July 27, Libya reported 20 outbreaks of serotype O foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Al Marqab Province and one other location, resulting in 3,245 cattle and sheep infected and 496 deaths.

 

16. South Africa reported 94 SAT1 FMD outbreaks

On July 27, South Africa reported 94 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in North West Province and 4 other locations, resulting in 1,068 cattle infected and 43 deaths.

 

17. Greece reported 3 SAT1 FMD outbreaks

On July 31, Greece reported 3 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD on the island of Lesbos, resulting in 186 cattle and sheep infected.

1. Hungary reported 26 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On July 27, Hungary reported 26 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Baranya County and 3 other locations, resulting in 34 wild boar infected and died.

 

2. Lithuania reported 5 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On July 27, Lithuania reported 5 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Tauragė County and 2 other locations, resulting in 15 wild boar infected and died.

 

3. Italy reported 41 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On July 27, Italy reported 41 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Emilia-Romagna and 2 other regions, resulting in 41 wild boar infected and died.

 

4. Latvia reported 13 ASF outbreaks in wild boar

On July 28, Latvia reported 13 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Talsi Municipality and 2 other locations, resulting in 13 wild boar infected and died.

 

5. Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 3 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs

On July 29, Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 3 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Republika Srpska, resulting in 3 domestic pigs infected, 1 death, and 100 culled.

 

6. Spain reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar

On July 30, Spain reported 1 outbreak of ASF in wild boar in Catalonia, resulting in 1 wild boar infected and died.

 

7. Serbia reported 100 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs

On July 30 and 31, Serbia reported 100 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Mačva District and 2 other locations, resulting in 748 domestic pigs infected, 668 deaths, and 17,000 culled.

 

8. Ukraine reported 1 ASF outbreak in domestic pigs

On July 31, Ukraine reported 1 outbreak of ASF in domestic pigs in Mykolaiv Oblast, resulting in 1 domestic pig infected and died.

 

9. Finland reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar

On July 31, Finland reported 1 outbreak of ASF in wild boar in the Southern Region, resulting in 3 wild boar infected and died.

 

10. Poland reported 49 ASF outbreaks in wild boar and 1 in domestic pigs

On July 31, Poland reported 49 outbreaks in wild boar and 1 in domestic pigs of ASF in Lublin Voivodeship and 4 other locations, resulting in 56 wild boar infected and died, and 3,067 domestic pigs infected with 8 deaths.

 

11. Romania reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar and 34 in domestic pigs

On July 31, Romania reported 1 outbreak in wild boar and 34 in domestic pigs of ASF in Bacău County and 2 other locations, resulting in 1 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 1,783 infected, 26 deaths, and 157 culled.

 

12. Kenya reported 2 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs

On July 31, Kenya reported 2 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Nairobi and one other location, resulting in 108 domestic pigs infected, 101 deaths, and 33 culled.
